What just happened? How bad is Speaker Mike Johnson?
Well, they have a winner. And it’s not democracy.
House Republicans finally elected a speaker and he’s an election-denying right-winger. (Don’t be fooled by his membership in the very level-headed sounding group, the “Republican Study Committee.)
Speaker Mike Johnson did far more than just study during the January 6th mayhem. He was a big force behind the Trumpists’ attempt to overturn the 2020 election.
And of course you can find his name listed here, among the 147 Republicans who voted to nullify an American presidential election.
But, hey, he seems like a nice guy and hasn’t made that many enemies!
I’ve had a crazy few days juggling changing events, new caricatures and more — I’ll have a more complete post shortly but wanted to get you the new animation as soon as it was finished.

The new speaker by unanimous R vote should dispel the myth of the ‘moderate’ R, The probability of existence of a ‘moderate’ R is somewhat below that of Bigfoot and Nessie, and reported sightings should be treated as such.
