☃️Here's to the humble & effective snowball...
Like most people in the U.S., I’ve been watching the ICE repression unfold in Minneapolis.
Un-American scenes of people being asked for their papers. Federal agents quickly turning to violence and cruelty.
In my entire life, I’ve never witnessed this level of nationwide fear and a sense that something really horrific is about to happen.
Actually, that horror is already unfolding, little by little.
And watching from afar, the people of Minneapolis are resisting admirably, relying on one readily available tool to fight back.
The simple snowball.
Washington, D.C. had their Subway sandwich, Hong Kong had their umbrellas and it seems that Minneapolis has snowballs.
I, too, would love to throw some well-packed snowballs at these thugs who target people based on the color of their skin, use excessive force and in some cases, kill people.
The other tool that is so important — in Minneapolis and wherever the Trump cult targets next — is the mobile phone.
The more we see with our own eyes the unprofessionalism, illegality and cruelty of ICE, Border Patrol and DHS, the better chance we have of stopping Trump’s rampage.
So keep your mobile phone at the ready, and if you live where it snows, stockpile those snowballs.
And most of all, be safe — resisting Trump, ICE and the anti-democratic right-wingers is going to be a long-haul — let’s make sure we’re here to see their downfall.
Bravo! The *rumpian shitshow cannot and will not be able to sustain itself. The big question is how much death and destruction he, and his equally deranged enablers will do before the depraved monster is gone forever.
Good idea actually!Resistance should involve humor more, as we know it is very dfficult to defend against, and those people also are in total lack of it.
