We all knew this moment would come.
Donald Trump has been itching to use our shiny military on civilians since way back in 2020. Remember, “can’t you just shoot them, just shoot them in the legs or something?”
Except now instead of having Mark Esper as defense secretary, Trump has this guy doing his bidding.
Send in the Marines? Whatever you’d like, sir!
We are in a very, very dangerous place right now.
Sure, we can criticize the small number of protesters using violence that plays into Trump’s hands — but the responsibility really lies with the chief agent of chaos in the White House.
Prepare yourself for a continuing flood of disinformation (lies) from the Trump camp, like the laughable notion that Los Angeles was about to be “completely obliterated” by the migrant hordes.
Trump just couldn’t wait for the rioting to start before sending in the National Guard and Marines.
Why wait for trouble to start when you can send in the military and start the trouble yourself?
Here’s hoping more people don’t fall for Trump’s bait and resort to violence — protesting in the streets does not equal violence and “insurrection,” no matter how much the administration wants that to be the case.
Unfortunately, the administration is calling the shots, and if it wants to call protest an insurrection, even the smallest infraction against the law will make it so.
