The Embarrassment-in-Chief
šThose 'my generals' must be livid...
How would you feel if you were ordered to fly to the other side of the world to hear a strange and rambling Fox News-style rant from your unstable commander-in-chief and his young, inexperienced cosplay defense secretary?
(Very effective how you prowled the stage, Secretary Hegseth, it almost made up for your contrived military play-acting!)
Aside from the silly Patton-esque theatrics and disrespect shown to career officers in our armed forces, Donald Trump and Pete Hegseth said some very, very scary things during their show before 800 generals and admirals at Quantico.

The biggest takeaway is that the Hegseth warmup act said we need to forget about all those sissy ārules of engagementā and get tough ā which was followed by Trump telling the assembled brass that itād be a great idea to use U.S. cities as a ātraining groundā for the military.
You know, to go after that evil āenemy within.ā
All of which led me to create two cartoons (with about a dozen others bouncing around my head) based on Trump and Hegsethās disturbing attempt to fully politicize the United States armed forces.
I like to think that one silver lining is that these generals and admirals may now be less likely to do stupid things for the Trump administration after being so severely belittled.
Iām sure the president and his white nationalist defense secretary thought this was a great way to bring flag officers under the Trumpist sway, but after watching the entire episode (ugh, I had to) all I saw were countless ways they pissed off the brass.
So hereās hoping some of these very same generals and admirals will tell the administration to go to hell when Trump and Hegseth give them unconstitutional orders.
Aside from the scary politics of this episode, Trumpās mental decline was really on display.
I read all about his speech, but it wasnāt until I watched it and listened to his delivery that I truly understood how rambling and insane the president appeared actually is.
The fortitude of the assembled brass was impressive ā to sit through such a display without walking out, shouting or immediately initiating a military coup must have required every ounce of discipline in their bodies.
Not that Iām advocating for military rule, but given these speeches, I would have understood the inclination.
Thanks for following my work! -Mark

Knowing the law, I would tell Hegsbreath to pound sand unless he proves there's an emergency that takes 100 leaders to resolve.
Spot on my brother. "generals and admirals may now be less likely to do stupid things for the Trump administration" That's a comforting and I had not thought of it.
