Fossil fuels save lives & plants want more CO2...

There are a thousand things a day vying for our attention, shock and outrage.

One story that came and went (amid news of more ICE lying and future concentration camps being arranged) was about the US Environmental Protection Agency rolling back the “endangerment finding.”

Beside the fact that this is a horrible thing that will speed climate change and give a huge win to huge fossil fuel corporations, I was struck by the level of ridiculousness, lying and disinformation spewed by the Trump administration as the change was announced.

My two favorite? Trump saying “fossil fuels have saved millions of lives” and interior secretary Doug Burgum babbling on Fox News that plants “thrive with more CO2.”

Next up: drink petroleum, it’s great for your teeth and gums!

If you’re like me, you’re feeling very overwhelmed by the speed of awfulness coming out of the Trump administration right now.

It really is a firehose of evil that keeps pumping out terrible new policies before we’ve had any time to react to the previous one(s).

Which is, of course, the idea

There was a time when I optimistically thought that my work could help change someone’s mind and make a difference at the policy level.

Amid the current chaos, I’m just trying to document what is going on, bring some attention — and hopefully a little lightness — so we can fight this madness without going mad ourselves.
