Chiquita now has to fork over $38.3 million to families who lost loved ones at the hands of brutal death squads the banana company hired to maximize profits and force farmers to turn over their land.
Of course, I could not resist revising the happy and innocent Chiquita Brands logo, and welcome any subsequent lawsuits.
This is just the latest chapter in the long and sordid history of Chiquita, formerly the United Fruit Company. (Hereās a good place to start learning more about evil banana goings-on.)
