Yeah but that commie Obama infected hope & made the change into socialism & ruined everything. The only way out is total destruction of government-yeah- by slitting throats for starters. Snark but...
I think we may have missed a little bit of sarcasm there. DeSantis' comments are way worse than one snarky comment. If being a MAGA MANIAC is being against candidates who promote political violence, then I guess I'm a MAGA MANIAC too.
Please check my reply to an apology expressed toward me by Sharon Brown. I hope that it will clarify a few things pertaining to my initial response to her late last week.
Needless to say I'm not a magamaniac, rather a lifelong democrat actually growing more progressive the older I get & I'm pretty old. I'm really sorry Nature Bear that my poorly defined snarky comment upset you. My sincere apologies.
Thank You, Sharon. I really do appreciate you taking the time to respond and, more importantly, to clarify your comment. I wish to apologize to you as well.
Being a person who is essentially a Canadian equivalent of a left leaning Democrat, I suppose it is the case that after being traumatized by the last several years of "Trumpism", I have become exceedingly frustrated and angry with American politics generally speaking but additionally in terms of how this "MAGA MANIA" has invaded Canadian culture and political constructs in the Country that I was born into and love dearly. I am sure that you well understand what I am talking about.
If there is one lesson for me to learn from this misunderstanding is that I sometimes need to take a deep breath and even walk away when I feel triggered by someone's comment and at least attempt to give a writer the benefit of the doubt. In this particular circumstance I obviously failed to do just that!
I am sure that you can comprehend how after years of push back from political opponents and being inundated with hatred and hubris and lies and distortions and insults and purposeful manipulation of everything that I value, it is easy to be on edge most of the time. Ironically, I suppose that this is precisely the effect that our mutual political enemies desire to achieve, namely, to create and nurture internal divisions within our ranks within the centrist and left leaning members of the socio-cultural paradigm of North American political perspectives.
It is a battle that seems to never end! Just when we have begun to succeed at creating positive societal change for the better, along comes an individual like Donald Trump who, not unlike a tsunami, obliterates everything of positive value in his path, rendering most of our lifelong efforts virtually null and void. Thankfully, our quest's candle has not yet been snuffed out, at least not yet.
Another interesting self-realization gleaned from my initial reaction to your comment is that my angry feelings have assisted me to see more clearly that my anger and occasional rage is the equivalent of the "MAGA MANIA" but for the opposite reasons but with similar internal effects within myself.
Evidently it is something important that I ought to pay closer attention to going forward!
Thanks again for your willingness to admit that which you wrote about and to sincerely apologize to me. It takes an authenticity and a singular sense of purpose to the cause to be willing to do this in the name of cooperative coexistence.
I hope that we have learned how to be a little more careful with our words. After all, within the obvious limitations of the social media sphere of communication, words are the only tools at our disposal when attempting to pass along our particular perspectives to our fellow readers.
All the best to You and yours and to the Countries that we cherish. Cheers!

Great choice.
