It's all about the lies
Lies➡viral content➡policy➡murder➡lies➡repeat
As if a reckless ICE officer killing Renee Nicole Good wasn’t horrible enough — now the Trump cult is lying about what happened while smearing the murdered mother of three kids.
The bumbling evil of this administration goes from the Disinformer-in-Chief all the way down to the unprofessional, trigger-happy Keystone Kops who are killing people on the streets.
In a set piece right out of the Handmaid’s Tale, DHS cosplay queen Kristi Noem lied about the Minneapolis murder while wearing a big ol’ cowboy hat and rodeo belt buckle backed by several heavily armed agents posing with 50-caliber machine guns.
.
This cartoon is more sane and measured than how Noem actually appeared: with an American flag and heavily armed federal agents all around. (I was rushing to get a cartoon out last night and didn’t have time to complete the entire staging.)
Renee Good gets more dangerous and scary every time an administration hack (especially Trump) talks about her.
They make it sound as if Good gunned her Honda Pilot towards poor, innocent ICE agents who were simply trying to push their vehicle out of the snow.
So here we are, but how did we get to the horrible events on Portland Avenue in Minneapolis?
It all started with hate directed at Somali immigrants — by Trump, his administration and social media sycophants profiting from clicks.
It is so incredibly apparent right now: virality on social media begets policy.
The anti-disinformation rockstar Renee DiResta has a great column on the act of “shopping for receipts” to support your beliefs.
She wrote this before yesterday’s tragedy but it holds even more true today.
DiResta’s column and ongoing research really help shine a light on what is unfolding before our very eyes.
Lies beget policy. Policy begets violence. Violence begets more lies, and so on…

Good one Mark!
