If by "deported" you mean "kidnapped"

😳Let's get our terminology right...

The fact that the Trump administration recently “deported” multiple U.S. citizens under the age of 7 should be yet another wake-up call as we slide into autocracy.

Most horrifically, a 4-year-old battling stage 4 cancer was deported to Honduras.

The Oxford English Dictionary defines the verb “deport” as: 1: “expel (a foreigner) from a country, typically on the grounds of illegal status or for having committed a crime.”

These children were not “of illegal status” and have not “committed a crime.”

So if these children were U.S. citizens, doesn’t that make this not a “deportation” but more of an expulsion, banishment, kidnapping or episode of child trafficking?

If we had any doubt before, it’s now abundantly clear this administration — with guys like Stephen Miller at the top — doesn’t care about laws.

What is more basic than keeping the government from coercively expelling its own citizens?

If only there was some sort of physical document that established what the executive branch can and can’t do.

And that’s not even getting into the morality of banishing a 4-year-old child with cancer.

Is there really any point in talking about morality when we’re dealing with an administration that goes out of its way to be immoral?

And if you happen to be an unaccompanied minor, your legal representation in U.S. immigration courts has been stripped away . . .

. . . while police officers accused of abuse have just been granted more legal representation in one of Trump’s most recent executive orders.

Children representing themselves while holding stuffed animals are now appearing before judges while crooked cops will receive additional legal representation.

This is the country we are now living in and the autocracy dial is getting turned up more and more.

Keep your eyes peeled and don’t let the flood of awfulness make you turn away, that’s what they want.
