Billionaires dismantle government for fun & politics 😬

One of Donald Trump’s myriad executive orders states, “the foreign policy of the United States shall champion core American interests and always put America and American citizens first.”

So why is Trump and an unelected billionaire with a handful of minions shutting down an organization that has advanced U.S. interests abroad since 1961?

Methinks it’s because USAID does that task in a compassionate way, by helping people.

Sorry folks, compassion is out.

Pack up your desk and get out, make way for Elon Musk’s young tech bros.

But it’s not just USAID, there really is a twisted new version of “de-Baathification” going on.

We’re only a couple weeks in and already Trump and his zealots are destroying our country from within.

I seem to remember something from civics class about Congress controlling the purse strings and the president being a co-equal of some sort?

I must be misremembering.

And I definitely don’t remember anything from class about turning over the federal payment system and everyone’s Social Security numbers to an unelected, unstable billionaire.

These are the times when I most need cartoons — when I am so filled with rage but don’t want to be rageful as I attempt to encapsulate what is going on.

(Plus, I get to draw dragons.)

Let’s get through this together and not be overwhelmed by the rapid-fire pace of the Trump disaster.

It is SO tempting to look away in disgust, but that’s what they want us to do as they go about their devious business.

Let’s keep looking, resist this madness every way we can — and laugh every chance we get.
