😬Former democratic nation rounds up journalists...

Federal agents have begun to round up journalists.

That sentence seems like hyperbole but unfortunately it’s not. Armed federal agents arrested two independent journalists late last night and early this morning.

Remember 30 seconds ago this week when Donald Trump booted Greg Bovino and we were all breathing a sigh of relief that some sense of sanity may be coming to the administration?

Well, since that brief moment, Trump has appointed his border czar — remember, the same guy who accepted a $50,000 cash bribe delivered in a fast-food bag — to replace Bovino.

And the next day, the FBI raided the Fulton County, Georgia election office.

Soon after that, Attorney General Pam Bondi reported that she had ordered independent journalists Don Lemon and Georgia Fort to be arrested “at my direction.”

The arrests came after a federal magistrate, an appellate court and multiple federal prosecutors refused to go along with the arrests.

But never fear, when it comes to trampling democracy, Trump and Bondi will find a way!

We are seeing before our very eyes, day after day, the Trump cult undermine the rule of law and march us to authoritarianism.

And if you happen to be a journalist, independent or otherwise, who is reading this post, keep in mind that there are very good organizations that can give you guidance for doing your work in an autocracy.

Keep those attorneys phone numbers handy, we just might need them.

P.S. As I was writing this post, I could see (and hear) local middle school students marching down the street protesting ICE as part of today’s walkout. Very proud.
