As I was drawing this cartoon, Iran was firing missiles at the U.S. Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar.

Who would have thought that a crazy theocratic regime would be willing to take on a superpower led by a crazy megalomaniac regime?

Trump, Netanyahu and Khamenei are not known for their diplomatic prowess and ability to defuse the situation.

So Netanyahu attacks Iran, which retaliates against Israel, then Trump attacks Iran, causing Iran to retaliate against the U.S. by lobbing missiles at an air base with 10,000 American troops.

Who could have possibly foreseen that chain of events between three crazy regimes?

Meanwhile, Trump is saying all is well and there’s a MAGA solution for Iran.

As he wrote on his own personal platform of lies . . .

“It’s not politically correct to use the term, ‘Regime Change,’ but if the current Iranian Regime is unable to MAKE IRAN GREAT AGAIN, why wouldn’t there be a Regime change??? MIGA!!!”

It feels like we are entering the George W. Bush phase of Trump’s presidency . . . but without the phony promise of a democratic utopia.

I’m sure it will be just a matter of days (hours?) before the Real Estate Pitchman-in-Chief will be touting the wonders of developing Iran’s waterfront property and ski resorts in the Zagros Mountains.

I’m all for keeping nuclear weapons from a repressive theocratic regime, but bombing our way to peace will not happen, particularly with three unhinged rulers at the helm.

There was a close-to-zero chance Trump would not use cool gargantuan bombs on Iran and now we’re going to see the blowback in real time.

Which leads me to ask . . .

Can Pete Hegseth start World War III while simultaneously conducting a racist and anti-LGBTQ purge of the U.S. military?

Something tells me he is up to the task.
