Here’s another short episode of “Your Daily Firehose,” which is looking a little more visually hellish as the days progress, no?
The top story is, of course, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, national security adviser Mike Waltz, Vice President JD Vance and other Trump administration collaborators buffoons officials hopping on the ol’ group chat to discuss bombing Yemen.
Deliciously, they didn’t notice that Jeffrey Goldberg, journalist with The Atlantic, was also on the thread. (This story would be hysterical if it weren’t for, you know, bombing Yemen.)
Competence runs deep in this White House.
At first glance, today was a slightly lighter news day than for the previous two Your Daily Firehose episodes.
But in my quest to find weird, awful or shocking stories of the day, I discovered that U.S. embassies in Europe are beginning to warn people against undermining our great country if they get a visa.
You know, welcome to the land of liberty and democracy, but keep yer yap shut!
Let’s review a particularly strident call for good behavior that comes from the patriots staffing our Good ‘Ol US of A Embassy in Estonia . . .
“When you apply to enter the United States and you get a visa, you are a guest. Now, if you are in this country to promote Hamas, to promote terrorist organizations, to participate in vandalism, to participate in acts of rebellion and riots on campus, we never would have let you in if we had known that. You lied to us. You’re out.”
Besides sounding like it was written by a testosterone-fueled teen boy trying to make a name for himself on the debate team, there are some tense issues.
What begins as a warning against future naughty action turns into a past-tense admonishment for something you already did.
But why quibble on the way to autocracy.
And now I’m kicking myself because I realized I forgot to include the most absurd story about selling sponsorships to the White House Easter Egg Roll in the animation!
On second thought, that may deserve it’s very own cartoon.
Thanks so much for being here and supporting my work!
